Steve Farmer brings more than 30 years of insurance industry experience to his role as Regional Leader for Brown & Brown, where he oversees retail operations across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Prior to his current position, Steve led the company's retail operations headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Throughout his career with Brown & Brown, Steve has held several key leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and Sales Leader for the Daytona retail operation, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth and developing high-performing teams. He also served as Vice President and Producer, leading the development and management of new and existing customer relationships.
In 2021, Steve expanded his leadership responsibilities to include oversight of Brown & Brown Ireland following the acquisition of O'Leary Insurances in Cork, Ireland. He was appointed Retail Vice President in 2024 and, in 2025, assumed additional regional leadership responsibilities supporting retail operations across multiple offices before being named Regional Managing Director for Retail.
In addition to his work at Brown & Brown, Steve actively serves on the Board of Directors of the FUTURES Foundation for Volusia County Schools, FBH Community Executive Board, Board Member and Vice President of Oceanside Country Club. He is also a member of the Agents Advisory Council for Zurich and serves on the Wertheim College of Business Board of Governors at Florida State University.
Steve graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in Economics in 1986. He lives in Ormond Beach, Florida, with his wife Carol. They have 3 sons, Ryan, Adam, and Logan.
