The Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance’s Program in Risk Management and Insurance at Florida State University's Herbert Wertheim College of Business is holding its fifth annual research symposium at Tampa Hilton Downtown in Tampa, Florida, on January 21-23, 2027.
The goal of the symposium is to facilitate a setting where authors can present their work in detail and receive helpful and critical feedback from a group of risk and insurance economists. Authors of accepted papers have approximately one hour to present their work, and each paper also has an assigned discussant to provide detailed feedback on their paper. The Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance’s Program in Risk Management and Insurance provides hotel accommodations for one author of each accepted paper.
Please note that attendance at this symposium is by invitation only. In addition to presenters, co-authors of presented papers, discussants and FSU faculty, additional invitations may be extended at the discretion of the conference organizers.
Call for Papers
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Submissions are due on September 1. FSU invites authors to submit papers on any topic related to risk management and insurance. Submissions should be emailed as PDF attachments to RMI-ResearchSymposium@wertheim.fsu.edu with subject line Research Symposium. Although most submissions and most accepted papers are likely to be in full draft or essentially completed form, we actively encourage submissions of works-in-progress that would benefit from the longer presentation times. The FSU RMI faculty will serve as the program committee and authors of accepted papers will be notified on October 15 or soon thereafter.
